Rock royalty open Newcastle radio studios

Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss have opened KO FM‘s brand new studios.

The station has moved on from their Charlestown studios to new state of the art studios overlooking Newcastle Harbour at Honeysuckle.

While the boys were there they also dropped the news that Cold Chisel will be the headline act, along with Spiderbait, at the first ever Coates Hire Newcastle 500 Supercar race on Saturday November 25.

Newcastle has always been great to us,” said Chisel frontman Jimmy Barnes.  “When we were starving in our early days, we would drive up there and fill rooms, long before we did anywhere else. We got to learn our trade playing to wild and appreciative crowds in full rooms there. If we owe anyplace anything, it’s Newcastle!

After nearly 30 years at Charlestown, SCA Newcastle’s two brands KOFM and Hit106.9 started broadcasting full time from their new state of the art studios overlooking Newcastle Harbour at Honeysuckle from this morning 26th June 2017.
