On Saturday 7 August, almost 100 representatives from 20 community radio stations across South Australia gathered for the annual SA Community Broadcasters Association Conference and Bilby Awards Dinner.
Despite interstate travel restrictions, guest speakers joined online with sector updates from the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, Community Radio Network, Community Media Training Organisation, and Community Broadcasting Foundation.
Workshops through the day focused on topics including fundraising strategies, monetising podcasts, APRA licensing and music copyright, interview techniques, and an impromptu demonstration of the equipment bank.
After online awards presentations in 2020, the Bilby Awards was back at the Lakes Resort, West Lakes and it was a bumper year for Triple Y Whyalla, taking home the awards for Community Engagement, Volunteer, Small Station, and Local Music Program.
