Tuesday 19 April, 2011

Don your lederhosen and schlap your knee! It’s time again for that perennial showcase of musical kitsch that has survived since 1955, The Eurovision Song Contest. If you are an aficionado of the this unique genre, then you can listen to a special digital station broadcasting all things Eurovision.

Mein hosts, Julia Zemiro and Sam Pang, pictured, will be playing non-stop Eurovision hits 24/7 on SBS digital radio as well as the through the SBS website from now till May 29th. The semis and then the final on May 15th will find the duo broadcasting live from Düsseldorf in Germany.

This year, SBS Eurovision radio will provide unique content for Eurovision fans, with news and programming feature podcasts Eurovision Decades, Second Chance and ‘Eurovision Re-mixed, from Eurovision tragic Ewan Spence.

And if that still can't convince you to listen, then how about the chance to win a $4,000 Sony entertainment system that includes a DAB+ receiver.

From ABBA's Waterloo to Dana International's Diva, you’ll hear it all when you tune your digital radio to 'SBS Eurovision'.

Eurovision - the one music event that I look forward to each year to see what new music appears, and what one of Australia's major networks will start playing the following week.
