Secrets of the Lubemobile Kid revealed 25 years later on Hit Network’s night show

“Firteen, firteen, firty two…”

That was the annoying pronunciation of a five year old kid featured in an iconic tv ad for Lube Mobile in the 1990s.

Earlier this week, The Hit Network’s National night time show Wakey Wakey It’s Danny Lakey,  put a call out to listeners in order to track down the ‘infamous’ Lube Mobile 13 30 32 kid.

They managed to track down his sister via social media, who eventually called in and put Danny Lakey in touch with him, who revealed that the lisp in the ad was fake.

His name is Scott, he lives in Brisbane and is in the Army. He is now 30 years old and the ad was filmed 25 years ago.

Scott recreated the ad for Lakey – see the video below.

Scott told Lakey he was not paid for the ad, the director was a family friend, and he revealed that the lisp was fake.

“They thought the line would be catchier and more remembered if he said Firteen Firty Firtytwo.” That’s why he was trying not to laugh at the end.

Scott, pictured above as he looks today, also revealed his mum still has the sleeveless chequered shirt, and that the ad did not help him pick girls up at school.
