Star 101.9 is the new shining light in Mackay

Hit Mackay and the Whitsundays took a hit, dropping 6.1, down to 16.4  in the latest Xtra Insights survey for Mackay, losing their number one spot, and dropping to third overall.
 
Star 101.9 surged, adding 4.3 for 20.8 and top spot as the station listened to most, leading Triple M Mackay and the Whitsundays, up 1.9 to 19.4.

Asked about todays results Stars Content Director Scott Linden says, “We actually had a few tears here today. I couldn’t be happier for the team they all work extremely hard so great to be rewarded with increases in all dayparts.”
 
ABC Tropical North lost 3.4, easing down to 10.9, with 4MK also losing audience, down 2.5 to 6.6.
 
Stars biggest gains were from 18-54, while Hits biggest loses were in the same demographics.


 
In breakfast, Sam & Rach (Star) added 4.7, streaking to the top with 21.3, but only just in front of the Jay & Dave Breakfast Show (Triple M), up 3.3 to 20.4.

Sam Blacker says, “We feel incredibly grateful to our wonderful listeners that have joined us at Star and we’re so pleased we could repay the faith placed in us by the management at Star with a #1 result today.”
