Strong growth in July metropolitan radio ad revenue

The commercial radio industry has recorded growth in metropolitan advertising revenue of 8.60% for July, to a total of $61.893 million.

That’s according to figures sourced by Deloitte and released today by industry body Commercial Radio Australia (CRA).

The first month of the new financial year showed growth across all markets (YOY).

The most significant growth was in Adelaide up 11.51% to $5.828 million.  Melbourne increased 10.31% to $19.078 million.  Brisbane continued the trend up with an 8.43% increase to $9.843 million.  Sydney up 7.65% to $18.926 million and Perth also grew 5.20% to $8.218 million.

The revenue growth in July follows a good financial year total in metropolitan ad revenue reported last month that saw the industry up 5.06%, to a total of $732.433 million.

Joan Warner, chief executive officer of CRA said, “The revenue figures are a very pleasing start to the new financial year.”

The Deloitte figures report actual revenue received by metropolitan commercial radio stations and include all metropolitan agency and direct revenue.
