Suggestive flowering plant provides unscripted mirth at 2CC

A common shade-loving perennial has caused a comical disruption at Canberra station 2CC during a popular gardening segment.

‘I was on air on Sunday 2CC during our immensely popular and long-running program, The Garden Gurus. One of the much-loved segments is called What am I …’ said presenter and producer Jen Seyderhelm (pictured below).

Yesterday Jen was provided with a plant – the Geranium Sanguineum – for which she offered various clues, inviting listeners to guess the species and genus.

‘Normally, it’s a doddle,’ Jen said, until she came to this clue, read blind:

‘I am not a weed, I am a low-maintenance clumping, herbaceous perennial.’

Jen went on, ‘… my bush forms an attractive small mound …’

Jen collapsed in fits of laughter, and, unable to continue, said ‘I think we might go to a break …’
