On survey days it is customary for GfK to inform stations of their results well before the media publishes them.
 
Yet, when the Newcastle survey was released last week that courtesy was, allegedly, not extended to the Super Network stations in that market. 
 
2HD and NEWFM had to wait until the media embargo was lifted at 9:30 am to read their results in radioinfo.
 
According to sources close to the network, on condition they not be named, it was due to outstanding payments to the survey service provider, GfK.
 
We asked GfK whether they would confirm or deny the allegation. Instead, they opted to offer this statement: “Unfortunately, we aren’t able to comment.”
 
The Super Network was also contacted for a response. None was forthcoming at time of publication.
