Sydney’s newest gay online station

The host of the first televised Mardi Gras parade, Tottie Goldsmith will help launch Australia’s newest LGBTI online radio station, OX Gold, tomorrow morning.

Tottie and her band The Chantoozies will flick the switch on the second radio stream from the team behind top 40/dance station OX Live.

“OX Gold will play 5 decades of divas, from Donna Summer to Delta Goodrem,” says program director Brooklyn Ross.

“It’s a format we’ve wanted to do since OX Live started, and we think we have the mix just right.”

Tottie Goldsmith (pictured) and Bob Downe hosted the 1997 Mardi Gras parade on Network 10, the first time the event was televised live.

“Tottie is part of gay history in Sydney, and we’re proud to have her takeover OX Gold on launch day,” says Ross.

Day one on the new station will also see Australian Idol alumni Paulini present some of her favourite tracks, including artists that have influenced her career like Aretha Franklin and Barbara Streisand.

Like its sister station, OX Gold will broadcast from Stonewall Hotel on Oxford Street, Sydney.

OX Live began broadcasting in March 2012 and moved into Stonewall last year.

The launch will take place tomorrow, Friday October 31, at 11am.
