Tassie radio reunion at AFTRS

The Kim and Dave Show was a powerhouse in Southern Tasmania for over 15 years, ruling the airwaves in Hobart on Sea FM, and later Heart 107.3.

Meantime Dani Torresan and Jason Matthews were entertaining the north of the state, broadcasting their breakfast show across RG Capital‘s 7LA (Launceston), 7AD (Devonport) 7BU
(Burnie) and 7SD (Scottsdale).

Dani also presented the weather state wide on Southern Cross Television.

They were reunited last week mentoring at AFTRS in Moore Park, as this year’s Graduate Diploma students broadcast two weeks of their pop-up station 2RS online

Student and Tassie boy Sean Brown (who coincidentally went to school with Kim’s son – yep that’s Tassie) had the chance to reminisce about his home state with the two radio veterans.

Including Dani’s hilarious story about blowing up their own balloons at an OB in Devonport in between on-air breaks.

Kim Napier left Tasmania in 2015 going on to work in the newsroom and on-air at FIVEaa in Adelaide.

She is also a reporter for radioinfo and last year launched Branded Podcasts, creating content for companies and businesses to use on their on-line platforms, it also includes audio applications for Instructional Design and eLearning.

She now lives in Sydney.

Meantime Dani has been working in Commercial Radio for the past 20 years as an announcer, producer, and voiceover artist.

She holds a Bachelor of Education majoring in Media Studies and also studied broadcasting and publicity at Bangkok University.

Good credentials for her current role as radio lecturer at AFTRS.

Dani can also be heard on 107.7 2GO.
