Tony Moclair is moving back onto 3AW overnights.
The success of Nine Radio’s evening programming with Denis Walter on 3AW and John Stanley on 2GB broadcasting into the local market, in the impetus for the move.
Nine Radio’s Head of Content, Greg Byrnes, says, “The big audiences that both Denis and John have attracted at night shows our listeners seek the companionship and connection of a local voice. Returning Tony to overnights in Melbourne is recognition of that, as well as the high regard in which we hold him as a 3AW broadcaster.”
Michael McLaren, who has been networked across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, will now focus on 2GB and 4BC.

It would be fantastic to hear 4BC pull the plug on 2GB. It's Sydney-centric - everything Brisbane hates.
Every major capital has its own commercial talk station, all but Brisbane. We have to listen to the garbage they pump up the line from 2GB .... actually very few are listening to 4BC or the other nine networked AM 4BH.
Save your electricity bill and hand in the licences.
The only comment I shall make about 4BH is that is sibling station 2UE despite low ratings of about 2.7% (Survey 5 2021) is that it's more likely to be more profitable than 2Day-FM at 3.4% (Survey 5 2021). The latter is spending more money on contrived breakfast teams.
The other comment on 4BC is that the station was very Sydney-centric until the beginning of 2021. If you observe the Brisbane ratings for Survey 5. The highest rating 4BC programs were sourced from Sydney. That includes Ray Hadley, John Stanley and evenngs with Brooke Corte and John Stanley.
Despite the highest ratings shows on 4BC being sourced from Sydney, 4KQ & B105 are ahead of Ray Hadley while ABC Brisbane (612kHz, 4QR) outrates Brooke Corte and John Stanley by about 3 points.
