Splendour in the Grass has wrapped for another year, and triple j was there to broadcast live sets for listeners unable to make it to the festival.
Between Friday 20th and Sunday 22nd July, triple j broadcast 48 live sets from acts including Gang of Youths, Amy Shark, Dune Rats, Khalid, CHVRCHES, Vampire Weekend and Lorde.
Presenters Ben & Liam, Linda Marigliano, Richard Kingsmill and Bridget Hustwaite were all in attendance, bringing listeners all the music news from the field.
Highlights from the weekend include DMA’s one-off live performance of Cher’s ‘Believe’ (first covered by the band for Like a Version in 2016 but never before played live); huge crowd singalong for Alex Lahey’s ‘I haven’t been taking care of myself’; and Murray Cook (the Red Wiggle) proving he can absolutely shred, after joining DZ Deathrays on stage for a rendition of ACDC’s ‘Highway to Hell’.
