The Museum of Broadcast Communications’ Radio Hall of Fame honours those who have contributed to the development of the radio medium throughout its history in the United States.
This year’s Radio Hall of Fame inductees will be honoured Thursday, October 29 during a live radio broadcast induction ceremony from multiple locations and across multiple audio platforms.
The inductees this year are, Mark & Brian, KLOS-FM, Los Angeles; Donnie Simpson, WMMJ-FM, Washington D.C.; Angie Martinez, WWPR-FM, New York City; Cokie Roberts, Political Reporter, NPR; The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, DJ Envy, Premiere Networks; Sway Calloway, Sway In The Morning with Heather B & Tracy G, Shade45/Sirius XM and Glenn Beck, The Glenn Beck Show, Premiere Networks.
Cokie Roberts, who is renowned as a trailblazing political reporter and analyst for National Public Radio and ABC News, will be inducted posthumously following her death from breast cancer last year
Four inductees were determined by a voting participant panel of 600 industry professionals and three were voted by the Radio Hall of Fame Nominating Committee, two with input from the listening public.
The outcome of the listener vote for music and spoken word format on-air personalities counted as one vote among the committee votes.
The votes for the Radio Hall of Fame are in and I'm humbled to announce that I've been inducted! I can't say this enough: You are the BEST AUDIENCE THERE IS! To everyone who voted for me, I thank you so much. This is a victory for all of us! pic.twitter.com/9qCeSq2ENl
