We are responding to you: improvements to our website

Thursday 01 March, 2018

Regular readers of radioinfo will remember a survey we did last year asking what you would like from us in 2018.

The overwhelmingly top comment was for us to make our website 'responsive' so that it would easily adapt its size to mobile phone and tablet screens.

We listened to you, and have worked with our IT support team to grant your request.

As of this week the radioinfo site is now responsive, which means that when you look at it on your mobile phone, it will be easier to read and navigate.

As part of the changes, some things will look different if viewed on mobiles and tablets. There will now be a menu icon at the top left of the page to help you easily navigate between content, and the key features needed y our readers, such as job ads, will be shown at the bottom of most pages. Scroll down on a few pages to get a sense of how the different content blocks are placed now.

Our advertisers will also now receive better prominence for their ads, when viewed on mobiles and tablets.

Our desktop site remains largely unchanged.

What hasn't changed is our commitment to quality reporting about the radio industry and our range of value added services such as transmitter maps, Airplay charts, On This Day and other features. Our regular columnists will also continue as usual, with easier access to their pages from the bottom of the main page or the top drop-down menu.

As regular readers have known for some time, we are also secure-site compliant, with the https protocol making your data and browsing habits safe from prying eyes and hackers. Always be careful to check that sites are secure and avoid sites that are not (see James Cridland's article about HTTPS protocol for more information).

We hope you enjoy our improvements.

If you have any comments or find any bugs with our new site format, please email us at editor@radioinfo.com.au and let us know about them. There's always something else that needs fixing whenever you change any website, so we will appreciate anything you notice that should be fixed or further improved.
