The women of Hit celebrate IWD

To celebrate International Women’s Day The Hit Network took part in an Australian radio first by live-streaming its national breakfast show, hosted by Fox FM’s Fifi Box and 2Day FM’s Em Rusciano, on Facebook & Twitter.

Em and Fifi were joined by their fellow Hit Network breakfast radio hosts; Abby Coleman, Hit105, Heidi Anderson, Hit92.9, Cat Lynch, Hit107, and Hit Network national show hosts Ash London, Carrie Bickmore, Sam Frost and Constance Hall, for a show filled with laughter, tears and lots of therapy.

Southern Cross Austereo’s Director of Social Media Chris Ledlin said, “Today’s live stream of the Hit Network’s International Women’s Day show was a huge effort for many of our teams across the network and we are so thrilled with the results coming in.

“As of 11am Sydney time we’ve seen over 55,000 views on Facebook, 13,000 views on Twitter/Periscope, over 30,000 minutes watched on Facebook and a combined reach of over half a million people across both platforms.”

The Hit Network also announced a $10,000 donation to UN Women, the masters behind International Women’s Day.

Head of the Hit Network Gemma Fordham said, “The whole reason IWD exists is because it’s an initiative of UN Women. UN Women globally are about ending domestic violence against women, gender quality and trying to minimise the pay gap.

“We wanted to kick start the day by donating $10,000 to UN Women to say thank to to them for this initiative and show that we are wholeheartedly behind them.”
