Young people speaking out for mental health

3WAY-FM will be giving young people a platform to share their mental health stories in a special ‘R U OK? Day’ edition of the ‘This is Everything’ youth radio show.

The show aims to highlight the day by discussing how to identify when a friend or family member needs help, how to seek help and stories of mental health experiences.

The broadcast will be produced by the Waveform Media and Headspace youth reference groups. The show will air on 103.7 3WAY-FM on Wednesday September 9, and then again on SYN Nation on Friday September 11.

Sam Maloney the Waveform Media Project Worker said, “It’s important for young people to know that help is available and this broadcast will be an excellent forum for mental health support.”

All young people 12-26 are welcome to come down and take part in the recording of the show on Tuesday September 8 from 3:45pm – 5:30pm at the Brophy Community and Youth Complex 210, Timor Street, Warrnambool.

R U OK? Day is Thursday September 10 for more details you can visit the waveform Facebook page here.
