Anthony Gerace

Executive Producer

Anthony Gerace plunged head first into the radio rabbit hole at an early age.

As the story goes, 12 year old Anthony arrived on the doorstep of ABC Riverland in 1997 and never went home!

Born in Ballarat, Anthony spent most of his youth in the Riverland of South Australia and made the local ABC radio station a regular stop after school; his reward for running small errands and helping out around the station – a cream bun from the local bakery!

As time passed and Anthony’s gut ached, he soon realised that cream buns, although delicious, were not going to pay rent and was finally old enough to be put on the books.

Throughout high school, Anthony went on to present and produce many shows at ABC Riverland; while teaching others the technical intricacies involved with running a digital radio station.

He became a full-time employee of 1062 ABC Riverland after completing high school in 2002 and two years later set off to the ‘big smoke’ to work at 891 ABC Adelaide.

After a decade of service with the ABC, Anthony took off to sunny Brisbane in 2008 to work for commercial radio station 4BC.

Here, Anthony became a senior producer working with the likes of Jamie Dunn from Agro’s Cartoon Connection fame and former Federal Minister Gary Hardgrave.

Anthony also played an integral role during the coverage of the 2011 Queensland floods and cyclone Yasi emergency.

In 2012, Anthony finally returned home to Aunty to take up the position of Regional Content Manager and Breakfast presenter at ABC Mildura-Swan Hill.

Anthony is now based in Adelaide as the Regional Editor for ABC South Australia, Northern Territory and Broken Hill.
