Launceston ARN stations to move into brand new digs

The building that houses Launceston‘s two ARN stations, Chilli 90.1FM and LAFM 89.3 was sold last month, with part of the sale a one year leaseback agreement with the network.

Instead of renting elsewhere, ARN are to build brand new studios in Invermay, across five titles and including three studios, announcer and sales offices and a ten metre antenna pole.

The new premises is to be in keeping with surrounding commercial zoning ‘allowing for employment and social interaction’.

The site is within a Launceston Council flood risk area, though not prone to flooding. The build will need to show consideration to reduce risks and hazards should their need to be an emergency response.

The development plans are available for public inspection. Comment and feedback can be made to the Launceston council website until July 13, 2026.
