Jim Maxwell’s measured tones have rolled across the airwaves to eager ears for almost 40 years, relating the triumphs, twists, controversies and collapses of the Australian team to generations of fans tuned in to ABC Radio. Maxwell describes himself simply as a "go-between" or a "storyteller", but he has been much more to many Australians, as evidenced by his elevation today to Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
