Mike began his life in journalism with the ABC. In the mid-1960s he served as a war correspondent in Vietnam, and as the ABC’s bureau chief in Jakarta. On returning to Australia, Mike became a successful broadcaster on Sydney commercial radio, at a time when talk radio was awash with money and influence. It was only later in life that Mike learned the story of his parents, of their controversial love affair, and how they enjoyed their brief time together.
