Nine’s newly appointed managing director of radio, Tom Malone, has been in the job two days and is already putting his powers of diplomacy into action, meeting with 3AW staff who are still reeling over recent job cuts including the decision announced last week to let well-liked station head Stephen Beers go.
It’s been just one day since Nine, announced the popular director of sport was off to head the company’s Macquarie Media radio assets, which include Melbourne’s 3AW and Sydney’s 2GB.
