10 Years. 5 Stations. 2 States. Countless Off-Air Alarms: Paul Brown exits radio

Paul “Browny” Brown’s message began: “Hey gang, after 10 years I’m departing SCA and the radio industry… I wanted to say thanks for all the support…”

As he leaves Triple M Queensland, Browny summarised his career in a facebook post:

10 Years.  5 Stations.  2 States.  Countless Off-Air Alarms.  1 Accidental C-Bomb.  So Much Partial (and Literal) Nudity.  4 Crazy Stalkers.  2 ACRA Nominations.

Thousands of Laughs. Plenty of Tears and a Legacy I’m Fuckin’ Stoked to Leave Behind… It all comes to an end tomorrow as I hang up the headphones (clichè as hell I know) for the last time at Triple M/Southern Cross Austereo.

Not bad for a prize pig kid who had no experience or education in radio, just a want/need to jump on the mic and talk shit about my life, music and pop culture. A long time coming but I’m looking forward to spending more time with the family, living a somewhat normal life again (if possible) and putting my energy into my online heavy metal publication and podcast over at Wall of Sound

A HUGE thanks to Renee Peterson, Matthew Acton, Trent Towson, Dan Hill, Rod Brice, Brad McNally, Chris Baskerville, Kev Marsh, Elle Bowles, Lindsay Harapa, Mathew Eggleston, Chris Buzz Bezzina, Scott Menz, Mitch Braund, David Rymer, Dave Williams, Dave ‘Higgo’ Higgins and Alison Donnellan for every single one of you helping along the way in some way shape or form. Would never have “made it” if wasn’t for your guidance, support, abuse, humiliation, encouragement and assertiveness…

He also thanked radioinfo for our coverage of his career here and on our facebook page.

I don’t have a “sign off line” so just play blink-182’s ‘Not Now’ once you get to this point,  he wrote as he completed his last shift on Friday.
