2BS studio dedicated to former engineer

The new studio at 2BS / B-Rock in Bathurst has been dedicated in memory of former Engineer, Bob Upfold.

Bob started his broadcasting career with 2BS (his only employer) at the age of 15 and after 50 years he retired at the end of 2001.

Bob saw many technological advances during his career; from 78 records and wire recorders, to tape and cartridge machines, LP and 45 records to CD Jukebox’s and computer based program delivery systems.

In 2002, Bob’s efforts were acknowledged when he won the Max Wilson Technical Excellence Award.

For more than 20 years the Bob Upfold Award has been presented to the 2BS / B-Rock Employee of the Month.
