2TM and 92.9fm are hosting their third annual Tamworth BRA-B-Q event raising awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Awareness month and Serendipity Tamworth from 9am on Thursday October 3.
This year event will be the biggest yet with additional activities for all ages, right in time for the school holidays, and 2TM and 92.9fm alternating broadcasting live until 1pm in Fitzroy Street Mall.
There is a mega raffle and two new, fun ways for the community to help the stations raise money. The first is the LA-DE-BRA, bra decorating competition. Entrants can enter their handiwork into the competition for a $5 donation for a chance to win return flights to Brisbane. The second is a colouring in competition for children between 5 – 10 years old. Forms are available to download on each of our stations websites with entry a gold coin donation.
The Bra-B-Q, I mean BBQ, will be tended to by PRD Real Estate Tamworth where you can buy a sausage sandwich with onions for just a Gold Coin donation. Local MP Mr Kevin Anderson has donated the food for the barbie.
100% of all funds raised will be donated to Serendipity Tamworth.
Susan Goodwin of Serendipity said:
‘Serendipity has for over 30 years raised funds for the benefit of local Breast Cancer patients by purchasing equipment to improve local medical services and raising Breast Health Awareness resulting in earlier diagnosis and better outcomes.
Serendipity is very grateful to the local community and businesses, particularly 2TM/92.9fm, for their generous support of our objectives by raising money, $3,552.20 in 2022 and $7,453.40 in 2023.”
You can drop off donations and competition entries off to the station at any time during the month of October and purchase raffle tickets at the same time.
