2UE’s Sports Today extended to weekends

2UE is moving aggressively into the football season with the addition of a Saturday morning version of its successful Sports Today program. The new show will begin this weekend.

The new program, hosted by Peter Bosly, will start at 9am and go for four hours. Co-hosts Andrew Voss and John Gibbs will join Bosly on the show.

2UE suffered weaker weekend ratings last year after 2GB consolidated its lead in weekend sport with the presence of Ray Hadley and rights to broadcast live football matches.

2UE’s new general manager Bob Miller told radioinfo: “Peter Bosly’s name has become synonymous with sport in Sydney, and his many
fans will now get a chance to hear him on Saturday mornings.

“Andrew Voss began his career at 2UE and is now one of the key members of
Channel 9’s sports coverage, while John Gibbs has established himself as a leading rugby league commentator… This unrivalled team will give sports fans all the news they need for the weekend, as well as a comprehensive look at Friday night’s rugby league.”

The Sports Program is part of a new weekend line-up on 2UE, which will include a new lifestyle program at 6pm on Saturday evening, hosted by Ella James, and an hour of naturopathy followed by the popular Doc Wright on Sunday evening.

2UE’s psychic, Sharina, will also make a return to the 9 – midnight timeslot
on Saturday evening.
