4 stations in one day for ABC702

Wednesday 4 September will be a busy day for 702 ABC Sydney.

For the first time ever, the station is sending its Breakfast, Mornings, Afternoons and
Drive programs out to four different destinations around Sydney, to broadcast
their programs live.

“Whilst we have spent a whole day broadcasting outside of the studios from one
location, we’ve never before taken all four programs outside of the studio to
four different locations on the same day,”
says the station’s marketing manager Sara Harrington.

The presenters will be broadcasting live from the following locations:

BREAKFAST with Angela Catterns (5.30am to 9am) – live from the Dee Why Surf
Lifesaving Club, The Strand, Dee Why. Featuring Tony Squires and other special
guests.

MORNINGS with Sally Loane (9am to 12noon) – live from Middle Head Oval, (next
to HMAS Penguin), Middle Head Road, Mosman. Featuring special guests John Eales,
officers from HMAS Penguin, the ABC’s Peter Longman, Wallabies players and
wallabies from Taronga Zoo.

AFTERNOONS with James Valentine (1pm to 3pm) – live from Miranda Shopping
Centre, just up the escalator from the ABC Shop (Shop 1087/88 Level 1 of the
shopping centre).

DRIVE with Richard Glover (3pm to 6pm) – live from Penrith Regional Gallery, 86
River Road, Emu Plains. Special guests will include Cherry Hood 2002 Archibald
winner and exhibitor at the gallery’s exhibition Boofheads and Scrubbers
Revenge, Jackie Kelly member for Lindsay and Parliamentary Secretary to the PM
and SMH Journalist Margo Kingston.

“To mark this rather momentous occasion, we’re challenging listeners to follow us
around Sydney for the day. Listeners are invited to turn up to each broadcast
and have themselves “stamped” by one of our marketing staff. Each listener who
turns up at the end of the day displaying the stamps of the four relevant
symbols, will win a prize and have their photo taken for display on our website.”
