AFTRS reveals new course offerings for 2015

Australia’s leading Radio school, the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), is expanding its range of courses in 2015.

ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN RADIO

In 2015, AFTRS is offering Australia’s most successful Radio course as an Advanced Diploma in Radio. This accredited one-year, full-time flagship course replaces the current AFTRS Graduate Diploma in Radio. It has been updated with current industry best practice and will be available to a wider range of Australians seeking a career in Radio. Admission to the AFTRS Advanced Diploma in Radio is by selection on merit.

AFTRS work placement scheme has Australia’s best track record in helping graduates find jobs in the Radio industry. 85% of our 2013 Graduates are in great jobs in metropolitan and regional stations across Australia: at Kiis 106.5, ABC Alice Springs, 2UE, Nova, Hot 100 Darwin, Wave FM Wollongong, Southern Cross Austereo, Sea FM Gold Coast and Grant Broadcasters Network to name a few.

AFTRS has developed two new online Radio courses in response to demand for flexible study options that are available nationally. As AFTRS Head of Radio, Lisa Sweeney, explains, “AFTRS is always looking for better ways to deliver its courses. Our two new online courses make it possible for anyone, wherever they live to study at AFTRS”.

DIPLOMA IN DIGITAL CONTENT (RADIO)

Diploma in Digital Content (Radio) is the country’s only accredited course designed for people in the industry who want to develop the technical and creative skills required to produce engaging and shareable digital content that meets the demands of the ever-changing radio market.

By the end of this 16-week, part-time, 100% online course, graduates will be industry ready with transferable skills across multimedia platforms. Lisa Sweeney says the course has been enthusiastically received by the commercial, public and community sectors.

“We are consulting with a number of industry practitioners to ensure the course content is practical and relevant to all sectors of the industry,” Sweeney says. “There is an increasing demand for radio experts who can handle the explosion in online activity and this course fills that gap.”

Admission to the AFTRS Diploma in Digital Content (Radio) is by selection on merit.
