Another record Give Me 5 campaign

2MC FM, based in Port Macquarie NSW, is celebrating yet another record fundraising result for its 2013 Give Me 5 for Kids campaign, this year reaching a total of $48,959.57

Following a jam packed month of fundraising activities in June featuring five on-air auctions, a bowls day in Macksville, a golf day in Kew, a trivia night at the Port City Bowling Club and a car wash at Lighthouse Beach in addition to the placement of almost 150 Collection Tins across the region, 2MCFM is proud to announce that the Mid North Coast Community has raised another record amount of $48,959.57 during the 9th Annual Give Me 5 for Kids Campaign this year.

The money will be split between the Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Macksville & Wauchope Hospitals to purchase vital medical equipment to specifically assist our sick and injured kids. It’s the third consecutive year a record amount has been achieved surpassing last year’s effort by almost $5 000. Since 2005 the local “Give Me 5 For Kids”campaign has raised more than $291,000.

Mid Coast Media Centre General Manager Mike Crowhurst said: “I’m delighted by the efforts of all involved in raising these funds and I’d like to personally thank the local community for their on-going support.”

2MCFM Give Me 5 for Kids Coordinator Nik James said: “We’re overwhelmed by the response to the campaign once again this year especially as the money kept flowing in long after we passed this year’s target of $33 000. The incredibly generous donations of coins, cash and cheques from individuals, community groups, local businesses, schools, clubs and organisations shows the high regard and importance people have placed on the GM5FK Appeal and the work of our local hospitals. Our 4 local Hospitals can now afford to purchase all the items they requested on their Wish List like a Cardio Respiratory Monitor, a Portable Paediatric Pulse Oximeter, Fetal Telemetry, Lactina Breast Pump, Stand & Case, a Breastfeeding Chair with Footrest, Large Digital Clocks and even Entertainment Equipment to keep children amused during recovery.”

2MCFM credits another successful Give Me 5 campaign to a long list of business and personal sponsors and supporters who helped by donationg cash and prizes.
