Be a clever station during National Science Week

Like the air we breathe, we are so reliant on science and technology, most of us take it for granted. But unless you’re conducting an experiment, science doesn’t happen in a vacuum.

National Science Week celebrates all that is clever about this country and your station can show how clever it is by broadcasting a set of CSA’s from some pretty clever people, Todd Sampson, Dr Fiona Wood and Mike Hussey.

Todd, Fiona and Mike have each recorded a 30-second radio CSA for National Science Week, that you can broadcast between now and the 24th of August.

Todd Sampson – advertising guru, TV presenter and self-confessed science nut – believes science is about questioning the everyday things that we take for granted. The next time we flick a switch, the next time we check our phones, the next time we drive a car… Todd believes we should all pause for a moment and think to ourselves, “how did that actually come about?” and “why does that work?” It’s these how’s and why’s that are the very foundation of science.

Todd’s passion for science is echoed by the 2005 Australian of the Year, Dr Fiona Wood, as well as Mr Cricket, Mike Hussey, (who’s a qualified science teacher). This year, the three have joined forces to promote the incredible contribution science makes to our daily lives, as well as helping to inspire the young Australians who will lead the future of innovation in our country.
