Blackers is back in breakfast

Forever Classic 6iX has announced Perth radio icon Ian ‘Blackers’ Blackley will be back in the 6iX breakfast chair in 2019.

Blackers says “6iX staff have finally decided they can put up with me, which is great news as I was getting sick of buying them alcohol and Friday lunches. So looking forward to 2019 back in the breakfast chair on Perth radio. If you get the chance, please join me and a few other regular voices that you’ll know.”

General Manager, Evan Broadway, says “We couldn’t be happier having the motorcycle mad Blackers hosting breakfast next year. With arguably the smoothest voice in Perth Radio we’re pumped to have Blackers on board along with a few new regular guests that might surprise too. We’d also like to thank Tim Gossage for the last 3 years, we’ll miss the big man around the corridors!”

Program Director, Brad Pottinger, says “We’ve trialled Blackers on Sunday mornings with Burgo for the last few months and he hasn’t slept in or taken us off air much, so he should be fine. He is a natural fit for our station with his back catalogue of music knowledge, history on Perth radio and his receding hair line. He adds to our strong local live line up with Mike Parry and Leo Nelson.”
