Canberra’s breakfast show for 2016 announced

Canberra will have a new Breakfast show on 104.7 in 2016.

The all-new Ryan & Tanya for Breakfast brings together two new faces who are thrilled to be calling Canberra home.

Tanya Hennessy can currently be heard in Canberra on 104.7’s weekly Scoopla Show with Jules Lund and Emma Freedman. Originally from Newcastle, Tanya’s love for radio has taken her from her hometown’s NewFM and NXFM, to Griffith’s StarFM and, most recently, as the Breakfast announcer at HOTFM in Toowoomba. Outside of radio she’s worked as a writer, an actress and in comedy, with her own YouTube channel that’s amassed over 1.3 million views.

Ryan Jon is originally from Melbourne and despite an honors degree in economics, Ryan’s love for radio has also seen him work around the country in breakfast radio across Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.  When he’s not writing and producing films that are good enough to feature at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, he’s a volleyball tragic and has played for teams in Serbia, Malaysia, French Polynesia and the U.S.

Both Tanya and Ryan are looking forward to beginning a new chapter together in Canberra and we’re excited to introduce them to our listeners.

Our current hosts Nigel Johnson and Kate Rice, best known as Nige & Kate will remain with Canberra FM. As he explained on- air this morning, long-standing host Nige will be taking a well-deserved break from breakfast radio with his last day this Friday the 27th November, while Kate will return to the newsroom. Fans of Nige will be pleased to hear that he will be heard again on the Canberra airwaves in the new year in a new role.

More news about 104.7 will be announced in mid-December, with Ryan & Tanya beginning on air on Monday 18th January.
