Come back Hughesy. All is forgiven – love Nova

Dave Hughes will be back on breakfast at Nova. It’s only over Easter. But this time it’s National.

Hughesy & Friends starts next Monday filling in for Nova’s local breakfast shows – Sydney’s Fitzy & Wippa, Melbourne’s Meshel & Tommy, Brisbane’s Ash, Kip & Luttsy and Adelaide’s Lewis & Lowe in the lead up to Easter. Perth Nova’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun will remain on air and take a break later in the year.

Hughesy will chat with some of Australia’s most successful comics, Tom Ballard, Tom Gleeson, Wil Anderson and, of course, his long time breakfast partner Kate Langbroek.

Hughesy said, “After spending the last couple of weeks on my standup tour, I can’t wait to take my natural sitting position behind the microphone. I’m especially excited to be broadcasting around Australia with the best comic talents this country has produced.”

Paul Jackson, NOVA Entertainment’s Group Program Director said, “We are delighted that Hughesy is returning to Nova when the breakfast teams across the country take a well-earned break. He’s a great broadcaster and one of the most successful comedians in the country and we can’t wait for listeners nationally to hear him on air at Easter and again later in the year.”

Well-known to Nova listeners, Hughesy was co-host of Nova 100’s Hughesy & Kate breakfast show for 12 years. He is currently performing his standup show Pointless at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Sydneysiders will get the chance to experience Hughesy’s live shows at the Sydney Comedy Festival later this month and a regional Victoria and Brisbane tour are scheduled for later this year.
