Discarded from Perth’s 96FM to make way for the KIIS Network’s Drive Show, Hughesy & Kate, (read article) Darren de Mello will join the 6iX team from Monday June 22 to fill in for Gordon O’Byrne who is on leave..

“Following today’s announcement that the “Hughesy and Kate” Drive Show will be networked into Perth along with the Kyle and Jackie O Hour, I can confirm that as a result, Darren De Mello will be leaving us on 19 June 2015,” a station spokeswoman said.

Darren, who has been with 96FM for 14 years is currently away on leave.

A search of his profile on the the 96FM website is further confirmation.
