Des Foster funeral arrangements

Des Foster’s funeral will be held next Monday 18 November.

It will take place at 11 am in the Southern Chapel of the Northern Suburbs Crematorium, Delhi Road, North Ryde.

Des Foster passed away last weekend after a life of service to the radio industry as manager of 2UE and 2GB, various roles on the board of FARB and on representative bodies Independent Regional Radio Association and ANRA. He was awarded an Order of Australia for his services to radio.

Another great figure in the history of Australia radio, Les Heil, drew our attention to Des’ wartime service with this message:
 

As many will know Des was a member of Z Force – for many years a highly secretive war time operation..  I had spoken with Des about it of more recent times as another of his buddies resides in this area.
