Elton John’s Corona Virus shut-in concert will be heard in Australia at the same time as America on ARN’s iHeartRadio.
The Living Room Concert, which began when Elton stayed home and encouraged others to do the same to help beat the virus, has now grown, with many other artists joining the movement and agreeing to perform from their own living rooms.
It reinforces the message of people staying home, and creates a ‘we’re all in it together’ vibe while providing a live entertainment event to those isolating themselves.
It is also a vehicle for entertainers to maintain a connection with their fans at a time when they are no longer to perform in venues. Elton John’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour now shows its Canadian tour dates for March and April as postponed.
The concert will stream on ARN’s iHeartRadio service at midday (AEDT) Monday, 30 March.
Sydney’s KIIS1065 and Melbourne’s KIIS101.1 stations will run a delayed broadcast at 2pm (AEDT) Monday 30 March.
iHeartRadio exclusive broadcast of the Living Room concert will featuring some of music’s biggest artists: Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Mariah Carey, Tim Mcgraw, Camila Cabello, Dave Grohl, H.E.R. and Sam Smith, all direct from their homes.
The concert will salute medical professionals and everyone putting themselves at risk to keep people safe during the COVID19 virus.
Each performance will be live, direct from the homes of the artists, on their personal cameras and audio equipment.
The one-hour advertisement-free concert will also raise money in America to support various charities.
