Finding the Voice finds an audience on the Seven Network

John Farnham’s son Robert appeared on Sunrise yesterday saying his dad was cancer free, singing again and even tap dancing.

The interview with hosts Nat Barr and Matt Shirvington was timely, given Finding the Voice, the Farnham biopic was to be aired for the first time on the network that night.

The ratings were wonderful for what is already the biggest theatrical Australian music documentary.

It was the third most watched program behind Seven’s news programs with more than 850K people tuning in. The most watching were in Farnham’s home of Melbourne, with 271,000 viewers.

Great care was taken with the marketing and promotion of the documentary beforehand with radio identities like Cherie Romano featured talking about her part in getting You’re The Voice played on radio.

John Farnham: Finding the Voice will continues to be available on the 7+ streaming service for those of you who haven’t seen it yet.
