A Good Samaritan FIVEaa listener has come to the rescue of a battling Adelaide family who couldn’t afford the customised vehicle they needed to transport their wheelchair-bound daughter.

When Danny from Munno Para rang Alan Hickey on FIVEaa evenings he was in a desperate situation.

He and his wife – both on disability pensions – couldn’t afford the special van they needed to transport their 13-year-old daughter Valma who is in a wheelchair.

Two minutes after Danny’s story went to air, regular listener and guardian angel Marty rang in to say he would donate every cent needed to buy the van…

Alan wasn’t sure the offer was legitimate. Turns out it was.
