He spent a month in a coma after being left with bleeding on the brain and a severed leg artery when hit by a van while riding a scooter in Sydney on January 31 two years ago.
But radio and television personality Glenn Wheeler has made his first steps back into the spotlight, appearing this morning on The Morning Show to speak about his road to recovery.
Hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies visited him to film the segment with Emdur saying on Instagram “He can still hug like a bear”.
They also filmed a special thank you video screened at a media industry fundraiser where Wheeler’s colleagues and peers gathered for a fundraiser to help with Wheeler’s on-going treatment.
“Thank you everybody collectively for the fabulous support that I have had, that this little black duck has had over the last two years. It hasn’t been easy. I have had my tough times and, yes, I’ve nearly been to death and back. One thing is for sure, when it happens once it could happen again and if it happens to you next time, I hope I get to chip in and support it.”
