The Howie Games Series 6 podcast begins this week

The Howie Games is back with its sixth series set to be released on PodcastOne on Thursday 4 July and the first episode features Australian swimming champions, Cate & Bronte Campbell

Over ten episodes, experienced sports broadcaster and journalist Mark ‘Howie’ Howard interviews some of the world’s biggest names in sport in a podcast that is described as candid, insightful and inspiring.

The Howie Games aims to showcase a side to athletes not often heard, including the Campbells, basketball legend Andrew Gaze, Tour de France star Phil Anderson, and cricketer and refugee Fawad Ahmad.

Howie says, “It’s been a real thrill for me to sit down with such a varied group of athletes and chat about their incredible journeys. The Campbell sisters had me in tears when talking about their career setbacks, while Fawad Ahmed astonished me with the story of his journey that took him from fearing for his life to playing cricket for Australia.

“And Scott McLaughlin’s descriptions of the power of the mind take the show into a completely different realm.”

Lifting the lid on the real stories behind the big news headlines, Howie delves deep into each athlete’s unique personal story, sharing their ultimate highs to the tear-jerking lows and he says “With Michael Vaughan revealing how his team beat the Aussies in the 2005 Ashes, to Phil Anderson’s wild tales from the tour, plus a few huge guests yet to be announced, I think this series will have something for everyone.”
