KIIS, Kyle and Jackie O scare little Kiddies at Easter Show

Ex radio folk lift attendances

Three and a half years ago, veteran broadcaster and long time pastoralist, Murray Wilton, left 2UE to become General Manager of Sydney’s iconic Royal Easter Show.

At the time he described it as his “dream job.”

Along the way he recruited a number of other experienced radio people to senior positions. Among them Paul Bowd – Head of Commercial; Roger White – Media Manager and Karen Parker-Dolan – Competitions Manager.

How’s that worked out for organisers?

Paul Bowd, experiencing his first Sydney Royal Easter Show says he is delighted with the crowd numbers and promotional support/ sponsor activations. “The 2017 attendance figures have far exceeded our expectations. Over the two weeks we entertained 922,827 visitors, a massive increase of 23% on the 2016 Show and 9% ahead of our budgeted forecast. I couldn’t have asked for better support from our Media Partners and their coverage certainly played a large part in our extraordinary visitor figures – the highest in over a decade.”
