The Kyle & Jackie O Show and ClubsNSW are spreading the cheer for the Sydney Children’s Hospital with 2Day FM’s annual toy drive, which puts the sparkle back into the Christmas spirit for families dealing with illnesses at the festive time of year.
Last year the generosity of Sydney saw over 7,000 gifts donated and delivered to Sydney Children’s Hospital by none other than Kyle in a Santa suit with Jackie O his helper Elf.
Donna Puechmarin, 2Day FM Content Director said: “The Kyle and Jackie O Show is truly excited to embark on its annual toy drive for Christmas. It’s one of the show’s favourite activities for the year and a reflection of their love for giving back to the community as much as possible.”
Anne Fitzgerald, Executive Manager Member Services & Marketing, ClubsNSW said: “ClubsNSW is thrilled to be working with 2Day FM and Kyle and Jackie O’s Toy Drive to help get as many toys as possible to the beautiful kiddies at the Sydney Children’s Hospital. We have chosen 4 clubs that are pivotal to their communities in the north, south, east and west of Sydney Castle Hill RSL, Tradies Club Gymea, East Leagues Bondi and the Campbelltown Catholic Club. We invite everyone to visit at least one of these clubs between the 11th and 25th November to drop a gift off that will bring a smile to the face of a sick child. Clubs always want to do their bit to help those who need it most and this Toy Drive provides a great opportunity to do just that. ClubsNSW is also pleased to donate $5,000 to the Sydney Children’s Hospital as we know just what a fabulous job this hospital does for children and their families”.
Gift collection starts today at Macquarie Street Mall in Liverpool, then at various Sydney locations as announced each morning on 2Day FM’s Kyle & Jackie O breakfast radio show.
The 2DayFM street team will be at each site collecting donated gifts and spreading the joy of giving at Christmas! Donations will also be accepted on the 2Day FM webstie.
The call for contributions is happening now until the show’s final week on air for 2013 when Kyle & Jackie O will personally deliver the toys to Sydney Children’s Hospital patients.
The Sydney Children’s Hospital Christmas Toy Drive was initiated by The Kyle and Jackie O Show in 2011 and has been a huge success. The first year saw 1,000 gifts donated, last year there were 7,000 and this year they hope to top it and deliver more Christmas cheer than ever.
