Look up for a Volkswagen UP

This morning MIX 106.3’s Rod & Biggzy had listeners looking up into the skies above the Gungahlin Lakes Golf Course.

It was a competition to win a VW Up from Gerald Slaven Volkswagen worth $16,500.00.

The catch to winning the car was to have the numbered golf ball that landed closest to the hole when dropped from a helicopter hovering 75 feet above the green.

The owner of ball number 89, which landed 2 centimetres from the pin, was Peter Balkos from Queanbayen, and although he couldn’t make it to the live broadcast his brother Chris was there and shared his excitement at winning.

MIX 106.3 Content Director, Drew Chapman has told radioinfo:

“This has been a long 4-weeks coming since we drew the first name and gave away the first numbered ball to be dropped. The phones have been running red hot with listeners trying to win, along with those just wanting to know when they could come along and watch, as evident with the over 300 people who turned up this morning.”
