Today is the last day for Mark Hine on The Edge 96.1 breakfast show, after almost seven years with the Sydney station.

Hine is about to head overseas to try his luck at backpacking.

Despite resigning on air last month, he’s been doing the program solo for the past few weeks, outlasting his long running breakfast partner, Jo Abi, who’s off on maternity leave.

While Abi plans returning in about three months, Lee Bevington will cover breakfast from Monday until 96.1 management decides on a permanent replacement.
