The Nova Network has announced its summer programming line-up, which includes exclusive Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve schedules.
Following on from their partnership over the September survey break, Mel & Matty return to the Breakfast slot over summer.
Hosted by Nova Workday’s Mel Tracina and Star 104.5’s Matt Baseley, Mel & Matty will air across the entire Nova Network from 6am to 9am local time from December 16 until December 24, returning in 2025 from January 13 to January 24.
And Mel and Matty are raring to go.
“We missed the cut-off date to put our Christmas leave in, so instead we’re teaming up to host summer Breakfast! The bosses are out of the building, so like teenage kids with the house to themselves, we’re raiding the locked cupboards to give away prizes, playing heaps of music and just keeping you company as you live your best Brat Summer.”
There’ll be a bounty of giveaways during Summer Breakfast, with over $18,000 in prizes up for grabs, including a European getaway, complete with flights, accommodation, spending money and a Doha stopover.
Club Nova members have exclusive access to Mel & Matty’s Santa’s Sack filled with holiday essentials like travel vouchers, shopping sprees, and festive feasts. Christmas Eve is the big day, with winners revealed throughout the morning.
Summer’s Evening slot will feature Shazam Summer Nights, hosted by Nova’s Maddy Rowe.
On Fridays, the show will count down Australia’s Top 10 most ‘Shazamed’ tracks of the week. This special summer series will air for three weeks, commencing on December 16, 2024, followed by weeks commencing January 6 and January 13, 2025.
On Christmas Day, the Nova Network has a festive schedule which kicks off with Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie’s Christmas Show from 7am to 9am, followed by Jase & Lauren’s Christmas Special from 9am to 11am. From midday to 1pm, Chrissie Swan presents The Chrissie Swan Show Christmas Special. Throughout the day, Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel will drop in to share some extra holiday cheer (as well as a few inappropriate bonbon jokes).
On December 31, from 8pm to 1am, listeners can kick off their New Years party with a simulcast of Nova Nation’s DJ sets.

In 2025, regular Nova Network programming returns starting with Smallzy’s Surgery and Nova 106.9’s brand new show Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne on January 20.
From January 28, remaining local Breakfast shows return across Nova stations, including Nova 96.9, Nova 100, Nova 919 and Nova 93.7. The Chrissie Swan Show, Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel and Ben, Liam & Belle are also back on air from January 28.
Summer programming on the Nova Network is available via broadcast and DAB+ radio, as well as the Nova Player.
