Melbourne Radio School upgrades equipment

The Melbourne Radio School has just bought new studio equipment from Fairlight On Air. In July 2000 the Melbourne Radio School moved into new premises on St Kilda Road. The move was an opportunity to design and build brand new digital recording and production studios, media training facilities and a broadcast radio studio.

The School was established in 1984 and since that time, a considerable number of graduate students have gained employment at regional and metropolitan radio stations as announcers, copywriters, sales consultants, promotional and marketing personnel, receptionists, journalists, news readers, music and program directors. One of the key aspects to the students’ success is the radio school’s dedication to using the latest “real life” products in it’s training.

According to the Melbourne Radio School owner, Gary Mac, “Our brand new spacious digital studios in new premises have been designed to provide our students with a totally professional broadcast environment.”

The new studio features the Prelude on air mixing console from Fairlight On Air. While offering an impressive list of features, the 12 channel Prelude has been designed with uncomplicated broadcasting applications in mind, making it an easy-to-use professional on air broadcasting console, and the ideal mixing console for training new on air operators. Gary said “We spent some time looking for the right console to suit our needs. We were also locked into budget constraints. My technician, Paul Taylor, suggested I contact Fairlight On Air. Their Prelude mixing console more than met our requirements. I’m glad we chose it. Thank you Ted Osburn.”

The studio setup is so well equipped that Gary Mac and Associates Pty Ltd are able to offer a wide range of services to the advertising and marketing communities including Radio and TV commercial voice overs; Digital recording: Telephone on-hold messages; Music programming; and more.
