Sam Ciccarello begins work today as the new General Manager of Austereo’s two Adelaide stations, SA FM and 104.7 Triple M.

Ciccarello was previously GM of the successful Adelaide United Football Club and the Event Director and Chief Operating Officer for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games’ South Australian operations.

He is a former Chief Executive of the Adelaide Formula One Grand Prix and the Australian Major Events Corporation.

Austereo CEO, Michael Anderson, has told radioinfo:

“Sam is an experienced and well respected leader with exceptional marketing skills. He is an Adelaide local, who knows and loves the city.

“There was a strong list of candidates but Sam was an outstanding choice within that. We believe he is the right person to take the lead for us in the competitive Adelaide market.

“His appointment reflects the importance we place on Adelaide as a crucial part of Austereo’s long term strategy.”

Ciccarello says he is facing increased competition, but believes it is an “exciting time to take charge of two of the most iconic brands in Australian radio.”
