New Community Licence for Braidwood

The ABA has allocated a new community radio licence for Braidwood in NSW.

Braidwood FM Inc will broadcast on 94.5 FM, the same frequency it has been using under a temporary community licence, which expires on Sunday. The permanent licence will take effect from Monday.

Acting ABA chief, Lyn Maddock, says: “The proposed service will add to the range and diversity of services in the Braidwood area. The applicant satisfied the ABA that it would meet the existing and perceived future needs of the community in the licence area.”

The Authority made the licence available after consulting the community to seek their views on what additional broadcasting services were needed.

Braidwood FM Inc was the only applicant and already operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service will provide programs covering a wide range of local issues.

The new licensee can be contacted on (02) 4842 2241.
