Nova 106.9 takes Nundah students down the Old Town Road

Nova 106.9’s David “Luttsy” Lutteral invited Brisbane Broncos’ and State of Origin player Corey Oates to join him and hundreds of students at Nundah State School this morning to channel their inner cowboys while singing the smash hit ‘Old Town Road.’

Nova 106.9 is hosting the Brisbane school singing challenge inspired by the video that went viral of students in the USA who had Lil Nas X himself turn up for their assembly to sing his mega hit.

Luttsy was dressed in his new western shirt – which he had to prove on-air and on instagram was actually certified country – but Corey must have missed that memo, turning up to the challenge in training gear instead.

The students at Nundah State School didn’t mind. They were just focused on giving it their all in their acoustic version of the mega hit that is sweeping the globe.

The Nova Brisbane breakfast team streamed the performance live on social media with big numbers dialling in to support the school.

Nova 106.9 will tag @LilNasX on the video to show his and Billy Ray Cyrus’ song is a smash hit at Aussie school assemblies too.

Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus “Old Town Road” is the biggest song of 2019 so far.

Luttsy is yet to find a sponsor to supply him a cowboy hat.
