Nova’s $100,000 Secret Sound has been won

One lucky Sydneysider has become instantly rich after correctly guessing Nova Sydney’s $100,000 Secret Sound.

This morning Fitzy & Wippa revealed to Regina from Moorebank that ‘taking the wire off a champagne bottle’ was the correct answer and awarded her the $100,000 prize.

Regina, who is an investment banking executive assistant, was with her husband, Ash, and her 20-month-old son, Aiden, when she received the life-changing news.

Fitzy & Wippa asked Regina when she realised what the Secret Sound was and she said, “me and my husband, every morning, have been listening to the show and listening to the clues and everyone calling in, and then my husband was just like ‘that’s it, I think it’s a champagne bottle, like someone actually taking off the actual wire’… and I was just like ‘oh actually with the clues and everything that actually matches’”

Regina, who has never won a radio competition, revealed that she had known the correct answer for a few days, but couldn’t get through on the phones.

When asked how she would spend the money, Regina told Fitzy & Wippa, “I would go on a holiday, put some on the mortgage and go on a shopping spree.”

The Secret Sound has been running for the past 9 weeks and after giving away 7 clues and taking dozens of incorrect guesses, ultimately the correct answer involved taking the wire off a champagne bottle.

By the way, look at the numbers on the bottom of the giant cheque in the picture above. Do they look suspiciously like the call numbers of all the Nova stations?
