News talk 882 6PR has appointed Channel Nine journalist Oliver Peterson as host of the Drive program, 3pm-6pm  Monday to Friday, effective Monday January 23.

He joins a strong team that includes Steve Mills and Basil Zempilas on Breakfast, Gareth Parker for Mornings, Simon Beaumont for Afternoons, Sportsday with Karl Langdon and Paul Hasleby and Chris Ilsley‘s Perth Tonight program.
882 6PR Commercial Director Barrie Quick said, “the appointment of Ollie as host of the Drive program now to be branded as “Perth LIVE” delivers a fresh new line up for our audience in 2017.  Ollie has proved himself as one of the most accomplished young talents in the market and we’re pleased to have him as part of the 6PR line up’.
Oliver Peterson also commented, “I’m excited about the opportunity to bring a fresh new approach to this timeslot.  Radio is a dynamic and exciting medium and I look forward to bringing the news and stories that impact the lives of our audience in Perth as it happens”.
Perth LIVE with Oliver Peterson will focus on the breaking stories of the day and interviews with our newsmakers.
Oliver is a respected and award winning journalist working as a senior reporter for Channel Nine News and A Current Affair covering some of the state’s and South East Asia’s major stories and scandals.
Oliver’s media career began almost a decade ago at 6PR’s Sydney sister station 2UE before he made the move West with his now wife Amy in 2010 to join the ABC.
His arrival sparked a keen interest in WA politics.

Away from the microphone, as a self-proclaimed “cricket tragic”, Oliver is constantly revising his selections for the Australian cricket team and enjoys travel.
